What is Pm Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
- PM Kisan is a scheme fully funded by the Central Government of India.
- It has been operational since December 2018.
- The scheme provides an income support of INR 6,000 per year, distributed in three equal installments, to all landholding farmer families.
- The State Government and UT administration will identify the farmer families that are eligible for support, as per the scheme guidelines.
- The funds will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries.
- Several exclusion categories will not qualify for the benefits of this scheme.

Who Can Apply for Pm Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
Eligibility for Pm Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
- The PM-Kisan Yojana is exclusively available for small and marginal farmers who own cultivable agricultural land.
- To avail the benefits of this yojana, the farmer must be an Indian citizen.
- Both rural and urban farmers are eligible to register for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Who Can Not Apply for Pm Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
The following categories of individuals who have a higher economic status will not be eligible to receive benefits under the scheme:
1. Institutional Landholders.
2. Farmer families who belong to any of the following categories:
- Former or present holders of constitutional posts.
- Former or present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, and former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and its field units, Central or State PSEs, and Attached offices/Autonomous Institutions under the Government, as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (excluding Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees).
- All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs. 10,000/- or more (excluding Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees) of the above category.
- All persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year.
- Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and who carry out their profession by undertaking practices.

Benefits of Pm Kisan Samman Nidhi Yoajana
Under this scheme, the income support of INR 6,000 per year will be deposited once in every four months, in three equal installments, to all landholding farmer families.
